How to manage the renewal reminder sent before a charge

Last updated: August 15, 2026

We send your customers advance notice 72 hours before their subscription renews. You decide whether that reminder is sent, and you can adjust it at any time from your dashboard.

The notification is called Subscription upcoming charge.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications in your dashboard.

  2. Remain on the Settings tab.

  3. Scroll to the Subscriptions block and locate the row Subscription upcoming charge.

  4. Check the box in the Email column to send the reminder, or uncheck it to pause it.

  5. Select Save at the bottom of the screen.

Your choice takes effect once you save, and you can revisit it whenever you need.

What this notification does

It reaches your customer 72 hours before a subscription renews, so they're aware that a charge is approaching and can confirm their payment method is ready. It's sent by email.

Why it's worth keeping active

The reminder gives your customers time to act before the charge is processed. An expired card or an account that requires funds gets resolved in advance, which translates into more renewals approved on the first attempt and fewer cases ending in a dispute.

If you prefer a more discreet experience, pausing it doesn't affect the charge: the subscription renews on schedule, exactly as before.
