How to create a Payment Link

Last updated: February 8, 2026

Payment Links let you charge customers without building a checkout or writing code. Create a link, share it, collect payments.

Create a Payment Link

  1. Go to Payment Links in your dashboard

  2. Click Create Payment Link

  3. Select the type of payment link:

    • Associated with a product — Reusable link with a fixed price

    • Associated with a plan — Recurring subscription billing

    • Instant Link — One-time payment that disables after being paid

  4. If you selected Associated with a product or Associated with a plan:

    • Choose an existing product/plan from the dropdown, or

    • Click Create a product/plan to set one up now

Metadata (optional)

Add custom key-value pairs to track additional information about payments created through this link.

Common use cases:

  • SKU — Track inventory for stock management

  • Order ID — Link payments to your internal order system

  • Campaign — Identify which marketing campaign generated the sale

Example:

  • Key: sku

  • Value: PROD-12345

Every payment created from this link will include this metadata. The metadata is sent in the webhook notification and can be retrieved via API using the endpoint Get Payment By ID.

To add metadata:

  1. Click Add metadata

  2. Enter a key and value

  3. Add more pairs if needed

Installments (optional)

Enable credit card installments so customers can split their payment into monthly installments with their bank.

How it works:

  • You receive 100% of the payment amount upfront

  • The customer pays in installments directly to their bank

This option is country-specific and requires configuration. To enable installments, contact support@rebill.com.

Advanced options

Click Advanced to configure additional settings:

Expiration date

Set a date when the link stops accepting payments. Useful for limited-time offers or event registrations.

Accept coupons

Allow customers to apply discount codes at checkout.

Pre-fill fields

Include customer information in the link to speed up checkout (name, email, amount, description).

Configure payment methods

Choose which payment methods to offer: cards, bank transfers, or both.

Preview and publish

Review the checkout preview on the right side. You can toggle between:

  • Checkout page — What customers see when they open the link

  • Success page — What they see after completing payment

Click Publish when ready.

Your Payment Link is now active and ready to share.

What happens after you publish

The link is immediately available. You can:

  • Copy the URL and send it to customers

  • Generate a QR code for in-person payments

  • Share it on social media

  • Embed it on your website

The checkout adapts automatically based on the customer's location:

  • Displays in local currency (MXN, BRL, ARS, COP, PEN, CLP)

  • Shows local payment methods (PIX, SPEI, local cards)

  • Adjusts language to the browser's settings

Edit a Payment Link

You can modify a link after publishing:

  1. Go to Payment Links

  2. Find the link you want to edit

  3. Click on the link to open the details page

  4. Click the pencil icon to edit

  5. Update the fields:

    • Title

    • Description

    • Price in different currencies

    • All other properties you configured when creating the link (metadata, advanced options, etc.)

  6. Save

Changes apply immediately. The link URL stays the same.
