How to accept coupons

Last updated: February 8, 2026

Enable coupon acceptance on your Payment Links so customers can apply discount codes at checkout.

Enable coupons on a Payment Link

  1. Go to Payment Links

  2. Click Create Payment Link (or edit an existing one)

  3. Scroll to Advanced options

  4. Click Advanced

  5. Enable the Accept coupon toggle

  6. Save and publish

The checkout will now show a discount field where customers can enter coupon codes.

Important: You need to create coupons first in the Coupons section. Otherwise, customers will see the discount field but won't have any valid codes to use.

What customers see

When coupon acceptance is enabled:

  1. The checkout shows an Add discount button

  2. Customer clicks it and enters a coupon code

  3. The discount applies in real-time

  4. The total updates immediately showing the discount breakdown

If the coupon is invalid or expired, the customer sees an error message.

Why enable or disable coupons on specific links

Enable coupons when:

  • Running a promotion for a specific product

  • Offering first-time customer discounts

  • Giving special pricing to a segment of customers

Disable coupons when:

  • The product is already discounted

  • You don't want promotional pricing on certain items

  • The link is for invoices or fixed-price contracts

You can enable coupons on some Payment Links and disable them on others. Each link can have its own configuration.
