How to check what you were charged for processing a payment
Last updated: February 8, 2026
Every payment shows a detailed breakdown of fees and taxes in the payment details. This tells you exactly how much you received and what Rebill charged for processing.
View payment fee breakdown
Go to Payments in your dashboard
Find the payment you want to review
Click on the payment to open details
Scroll to Total fees & taxes
The breakdown shows:
What the customer paid
Processing fees charged by Rebill
Taxes (if applicable)
Net amount you received
Domestic payments (local processing)
When you process payments in the same country where your business is legally established, the fee breakdown shows:
Subtotal The amount the customer paid in local currency.
Customer Paid Total amount charged to the customer (same as subtotal if no extra charges apply).
Processing Fee Broken down into:
Variable fee (%) — Percentage charged on the transaction amount
Tax (%) — Tax applied on the processing fee (not on the transaction amount)
Net Received The final amount added to your Rebill balance after deducting fees and taxes.
Example (Argentina - domestic):
Customer paid: ARS 100.00
Processing fee: ARS 4.00 (4%)
Tax on fee: ARS 0.84 (21% tax on the ARS 4.00 fee)
Net received: ARS 95.16
Cross-border payments (international processing)
When you process payments in a country different from where your business is legally established, the fee breakdown shows amounts in both local currency and USD:
Subtotal Amount the customer paid in their local currency.
Customer Paid Total charged to the customer in local currency.
Gross Amount The customer's payment converted to USD before applying Rebill's processing fees.
Processing Fee (in USD) Includes both:
Fixed fee — Flat amount per transaction (e.g., USD 0.20)
Variable fee (%) — Percentage of the gross amount (e.g., 2.99%)
Important: In cross-border transactions, VAT is already included in the processing fee. You won't see a separate tax line.
Net Received The final amount in USD added to your Rebill balance.
Example (Mexico - cross-border):
Customer paid: MX$2,049.00
Gross amount (converted to USD): USD 2,049.00
Processing fee: USD 3.75
Fixed fee: USD 0.20
Variable fee (2.99%): USD 3.55
Net received: USD 112.60
Domestic vs. cross-border: how do you know which applies?
Domestic: Your business is legally established in the same country where the customer is paying.
Example: Your company is registered in Argentina and you're charging a customer in Argentina.
Cross-border: Your business is legally established in a different country from where the customer is paying.
Example: Your company is registered in the US and you're charging a customer in Mexico.
Rebill automatically applies the correct fee structure based on your business registration and the customer's country.
